Fr. Jeff Dobbs, Pastor   507-235-2453
Fr. Jeff Dobbs was ordained a priest in 2008. He served in the Fulda, Curie, and Westbrook cluster until 2012, when he was assigned to be the Director of Spiritual Formation at IHM Seminary in Winona. He became the pastor of St. John Vianney in Fairmont and Ss. Peter & Paul in Blue Earth on July 1, 2023.

Fr. Tim Welch, Parochial Vicar   507-235-2452
Fr. Tim was ordained to the priesthood in 2025, and St. John Vianney is his first assignment as a priest. The oldest of seven children, he has always felt called to the priesthood. He felt a strong call from the Lord while attending a youth camp in our diocese, Quo Vadis Days.
In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, whether it’s riding his bike, hiking trails, or praying the Rosary while walking through town. He also has a deep love of music and enjoys playing a variety of instruments, including the accordion, organ, harmonica, and baritone. Fr. Tim has a great appreciation for history and a fascination for model trains and vintage cars.

Dcn. Steve Landsteiner, Permanent Deacon  507-235-5535
Deacon Steve is a lifelong member of St. John Vianney Church. He and his wife, Marie, have eight children and 13 grandchildren. He graduated from MSU Mankato in 1990 with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. He was ordained a permanent deacon for the Diocese of Winona-Rochester in August of 2020 and is assigned to SJV as well as Sts. Peter & Paul in Blue Earth. Deacon Steve’s other duties and interests include: Charismatic Renewal, Cursillo and Unbound Ministry (Freedom in Christ). He is a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and co-founder with his wife, Marie, of Fairmont Area Catholic Radio.

Angela Schultz, Office Coordinator  507-235-2460
Angela grew up in Fairmont, attended St. John Vianney School, and graduated from Fairmont High School.  She and her husband Brian have three children: Matelyn (husband Christian and adorable grandson, Henry), Bradley, and Nicholas.  Angela was a stay-at-home mom for many years, worked off and on as a nurse, and volunteered for the church and Options Pregnancy Center.  She joined the staff of St. John Vianney in 2017.

Lisa Hady, Administrative Finance Manager  507-235-2450
Lisa joined the staff in May 2017. She grew up in Fairmont and attended St. John Vianney School and Fairmont High School. She has two sons, Seth and Ethan, and one daughter, Hannah, who all attended St. John Vianney School and are now at Fairmont High School. She has been a member of St. John Vianney Church her whole life. Lisa’s position with parish finances includes: Accounts payable and receivable, payroll and financial reports for St. John Vianney Parish and Holy Family.

Diane Larson, Liturgy & Adult Faith Formation 507-235-2451
Diane grew up on a family farm in rural Manson, IA. In 1988, she was married to Bruce Larson of Armstrong, Iowa. Presently, they reside on the family farm where Bruce grew up. They have three grown sons: Travis (Bekah), Ryan (Brittany), and Jared (Kate). They enjoy being grandparents to Ezra and Noah. Diane joins SJV after completing a nearly 40-year career as a dental hygienist and is passionate about parish life here at SJV. Diane loves serving the liturgical needs of our parish and looks forward to seeing many familiar faces and meeting new people here as well. Diane has been a member of SJV for 40 years and loves music and reading.

Tamarae Schmidt, Faith Formation 507-235-5639
Tamarae and her husband, Jay, have lived in Fairmont since 2000. They have two daughters. Tamarae graduated from St. Benedict/St. John’s University with a BA degree in Education and Theology. She taught at St. Theodore’s and St. John Vianney Catholic Schools. She has been the Director of Religious Education since 2010. Tamarae is passionate about helping families grow in their faith.

Kendra Helvig, Communication Coordinator  507-235-2458
Kendra and her husband, Dan, have three children (triplets!): Eliza, Jack, and Grayson, who attend St. John Vianney School. The family farms near Fairmont, and in August of 2025, Kendra joined the staff of St. John Vianney. Passionate about her faith, Kendra is excited about using her creativity to expand and develop all things “communications” for our church and our parishioners!

Joe Maidl, Custodian
My name is Joe Maidl.  I am the Maintenance Technician  on the St John Vianney campus.
I live in Fairmont with my wife, Erin, who is an SJV alum.  Our children have also made the Fairmont area their home.  Our son, Joey and his wife, Ashly, along with our grandsons, Jebidiah and Jethro, live just outside of Fairmont.  Our daughter, Ryann, also lives in Fairmont.  We are very blessed to have family so close. My other passion is conservation and habitat, and cultivating that passion in our local youth.  I am able to do that by being involved with the Martin County Pheasants Forever Chapter.
I was with Old Dutch Foods for 25 years before coming to SJV.  I came to SJV in November of 2022, and I look forward to being a part of the SJV family for many years to come.
