SJV Scholarships

The following 3 scholarships are available to SJV college students:

Monica Wiebe Scholarship Fund

In 1982, SJV Parishioner, Monica Wiebe, left a generous gift to SJV Church to be used for college education by students whose parents/guardians are SJV Parish members. The applicants, who must have completed at least 2 years of education at an accredited college or 1 year at a trade school and have at least a 3.0 grade point average, may apply for one of seven (7), $500 scholarships each school year. The scholarships will be awarded to the five students who submit the first five completed eligible applications for 4-year schools and the first two completed eligible applications for trade schools.
Student applications will be available beginning March 1 each year, and the date they will start to be accepted will be announced in the bulletin each year.
Scholarships will be awarded by the end of June.

Schissel Scholarships

The Sue Schissel Scholarship Fund is available to members of St. John Vianney. These scholarships are available due to the generosity of Sue Schissel, who directed as part of her estate the establishment of scholarships for college education for members of St. John Vianney who have financial need, are of good moral character, are fully initiated Catholics (meaning have been Baptized, received First Communion, and been Confirmed).  It is the intent to make two $4,000 per year scholarships available for up to 4 years of education.  Our goal is to have a total of 8 scholarships annually being funded once the program is fully implemented.                                                              For more information or to receive an application, please contact
